The View hosts Oban's first ever collaborative student event

Oban Freshers Fayre

The View will be hosting Oban’s first ever joined-up Freshers event welcoming the new student intake to the town.

Although many new students will be from SAMS UHI, Argyll College UHI and Ballet West, the event is open to all students and will provide opportunity for those arriving in Oban to see meet with fellow students, get more familiar with the town and the breadth of services and leisure activities available to them during their time here.

‘Oban’s ambition to become a first choice destination for students needs local organisations and businesses to get involved in developing a programme of leisure activities for students and our young people. We’re delighted to support the aims of the University Town project and help students to get more familiar with our town, meet local organisations or join club and societies’. Daniel Macintyre

A core aim of the Oban: A University Town (OaUT) project is working with partners, organisations and individuals to increase the number of skilled people moving into the region or choosing to stay after school.

This event is a key outcome for the Oban as a University Town Project Partners’ focus on student engagement and creating a high quality student experience.

All students will be welcome on the day from 4pm-6.30pm at The View.
