Oban Weather

Oban is situated on the West Coast of Scotland and in the path of the Gulf Stream, so it is usually warmer than other parts of Scotland. However, our coastal location means that we do experience unpredictable weather.

A popular time to visit is between May and September when temperatures are milder and the weather is more settled, however, if you are coming on holiday it is always advisable to bring clothing for every eventuality.

The winter months from November to February tend to be wetter and colder

Outdoor Activities

The rain does mean that the countryside is always green and fresh in the summer and remember there is plenty to do in Oban whatever the weather.

Why not try long distance trails, or explore glorious gardens, waterfalls, burns, lochs and lochans.

Rain and Wet Weather

The rain does mean that the countryside is always green and fresh in the summer and remember there is plenty to do in whatever the weather.

Without the rain we would not have Oban single malt whisky, fabulous shellfish and unique boating, watersports and sailing opportunities.
